Big Brothers Big Sisters of Broward’s Swing for Kids’ Sake golf tournament presented by Ana G. Méndez University and BMW of Pembroke Pines raised $106,763 to support the nonprofit and its mission of igniting the power and promise of youth through one-to-one mentoring relationships.  The tournament, chaired by Big Brothers Big Sisters longtime board member John Corrado, hosted 120 golfers at The Club at Weston Hills.

“I’m so proud of the success of this year’s golf tournament, but even more proud of the work it supports,” said John Corrado, a Big Brothers Big Sisters of Broward board member for 12 years who has chaired the tournament for 15 years.  “The funds raised help us positively influence children by providing a lifechanging role model to help them through the joys and the bumps of life. I’m extremely thankful for every golfer and sponsor who supported this important cause, especially our presenting sponsors Ana G. Méndez University and BMW of Pembroke Pines as well as our tournament host The Club at Weston Hills.”

Golfers and guests enjoyed a post-golf luncheon overlooking the course. One highlight of the program was a special presentation to Bryan Mendez, a Little Brother in the Big Futures program, who is mentored by a staff member at Grant Cardone.  Mendez was presented with a $5,800 college scholarship, funded in part by Big Brothers Big Sisters of Broward board member Traci Miller and Troy McHatton.  The tournament winners also were celebrated at the luncheon, who included:

  • First Place Men’s Team – Todd Ashford, Robin Arce, Ricky Lee, Nicholas Arce
