BIG FUTURES: TOMORROW’S WORKFORCE, REIMAGINED

Every young person deserves the tools, guidance, and opportunities to shape their own future. Through BIG Futures, we help youth ages 12 to 18 prepare for life after high school, whether that path leads to college, a trade or a career.

BIG Futures connects Littles with caring mentors and working professionals who introduce them to real-world work environments, college options, and the skills needed for success. From hands-on career experiences to college prep support, these programs are designed to inspire confidence, expand opportunity, and open doors to what’s possible.

BIG FUTURES: JOB, CAREER, & WORKPLACE READINESS

BIG Futures is a college and career readiness initiative designed to equip youth for post-secondary success through career mentoring, education, and access to key opportunities.

BIG Futures is more than just one program. It’s a movement. Through a network of mentoring and development programs, we empower every young person to graduate with a plan for their future and a mentor whose impact will last a lifetime.

BIG FUTURES NETWORK OF CAREER & COLLEGE READINESS PROGRAMS:

SCHOOL TO WORK (Ages 12 to 18): Our corporate partners’ volunteers mentor youth in their professional work environments, and youth learn valuable career development skills through onsite engagement.

HIGH SCHOOL BIGS (Ages 14 to 18): High school Bigs are students who mentor younger Littles, and they too receive individualized coaching to support their own post-secondary goals, creating a cycle of mentorship that strengthens both Bigs and Littles alike.

COLLEGE AND CAREER READINESS (Ages 14 to 25):From short-term workshops to classroom experiences, this program equips youth with life skills and practical knowledge to help them navigate the transition from high school to higher education or the workforce.

POST SECONDARY WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT (Ages 18 to 25): Through our partnerships with local employers, youth gain real-world experience through internships, scholarships, and job placements that prepare the next generation of skilled professionals.

SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITIES:

As a BIG Futures participant, youth not only gain valuable career and college preparation but also access exclusive volunteer scholarship opportunities available only to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Broward County participants.

Through participation in our programs, students can earn volunteer hours that count toward scholarship eligibility, rewarding their commitment to mentoring, leadership, and community service. These scholarships recognize Littles and high school Bigs who go above and beyond to make a difference in their schools, workplaces, and neighborhoods.
