Bigs in Blue is a one-to-one mentoring program that connects youth with police across the communities throughout our county, building strong, trusting, lasting relationships. The BBBS county wide coalition formed by State Representative Michael Gottlieb brings together representatives of every Law Enforcement Union, Broward County School Board, The Dolphins organization and The Russell Reading Foundation.

These relationships can help children develop into confident adults and help build stronger bonds between law enforcement and the families they serve. We are pleased to roll out this initiative across Coconut Creek, Miramar, Hollywood and Hallandale and we are looking for your support to expand to all areas of the County.

Bigs in Blue, the first national initiative aimed at recruiting local law enforcement to serve as mentors to youth in their local community, was launched by Big Brothers Big Sisters of America in 2016.  It has since spread to 100 local agencies across the country.  In Florida, more than 3,000 kids currently are paired with law enforcement mentors.
