Big Brothers Big Sisters of Broward Launches Networking Group for Young Professionals
Six Degrees ( 6°) is a synergy of future envisioneers, formed to shake and stir the community.
FORT LAUDERDALE, FL – January 11, 2008 – Big Brothers Big Sisters (BBBS) of Browardwill launch its young professionals networking group, Six Degrees, on Thursday, January 31st , 6 pm – 9 pm at the newly renovated Orchids Pool Bar located inside Hyatt Regency Pier 66 (2310 S.E. 17th Street, Fort Lauderdale). The event will draw an enthusiastic crowd of young professionals who share an interest in the agency as well as the opportunity to network, fuse and mingle with other leaders in the business community.
Six Degrees was created to provide young professionals who are currently involved or would like to be involved with BBBS of Broward with top quality networking, agency involvement, and professional development opportunities in an edgy and fun environment. The mission of Six Degrees is as simple as its tagline (What Connects You.) to energize the futures of its members and the legacy of the agency.
"Six Degrees will be our flagship organization for reaching out to the future business leaders of Broward County. Beginning with our Advisory Council, Six Degrees members will be driving forces for new and innovative ideas to support BBBS and our mission of mentoring,” Said Ana Cedeno, CEO of BBBS of Broward.
The 2007 Six Degrees Advisory Council members are Vickie Arcuri (Esslinger-Wooten-Maxwell, Inc)(Big Sister), Jennifer Grey (NBC6 Meterologist)(Big Sister), Derek Kearney (Office Depot)(Big Brother), David Lieb (BankUnited)(Big Brother), Yvonne Lopez (City of Coconut Creek), Sheriann Namer (Hyatt Regency Pier 66) and Joseph Ro (Crowe Chizek and Company)(Big Brother).
This launch event will be the first of many for Six Degrees whose plans include Bigwig Quality Time Luncheons, Fusion Mixers and agency events with Bigs and Littles. The Launch party will feature complimentary drinks and hour d’ oeuvres and guests will have the opportunity to fill out an application for membership as well as meet and mingle with the Advisory Council.
