Superheros and Rocks

Minerals Rock!
Museum of Discovery and Science
Featuring more than 50 types of beautiful museum-quality minerals, rocks and ammonites.  See pyrite, or fool's gold, opal, copper, malachite, halite, quartz, azurite, sulfur, petrified wood, garnet, amethyst and fluorite just to name a few.  You even wil be able to make a volcano erupt to see how new rocks and landmasses are formed.

Zap! Pow! Bam! The Superhero: The Golden Age of Comic Books, 1938-1950
My Jewish Discovery Place
Through August 15.  An interactive exhibit including a batmobile, Superman's telephone booth, superhero dress up and orignial comic books that examine the artists who expressed themselves.  Children, $5. Adults are free with children's admission.

Teenage Girls Wanted for Dance Class
Character in Motion is a non-profit after-school program helping teenage girls build character through dance.  They offer girls an opportunity for mentorship in their mental, physical and spiritual growth.  For more information, click here.
