AQUARIUM BEHIND THE SCENES
Saturday and Sunday at 2:00 pm
-$2 per person plus tax – All ages
Learn about aquarium inhabitants and observe them feeding.


FAMILY FUN NATURE SERIES:  “Prehistoric Pottery with the Florida Public Archaeology Network”
Sunday, October 1 from 2:00 pm – 3:30 pm
- $2 per person
Donations benefit the Friends of Anne Kolb Nature Center. Pre-registration Required.
Learn how prehistoric pottery can help archaeologists understand prehistoric people and site where they lived. Enjoy fun archaeology activities.


*BASIC KAYAK CLASS
Tuesday, October 3; Saturday, October 14; Saturday, November 4; Sunday, November 19; Saturday, December 2; Saturday, December 30 from 9:00 am – 11:30 am
-$35 per person plus tax
Basic kayak instructions to learn paddle techniques and to handle a kayak safely.
**Registration Deadline is 5 pm the Thursday before.


*MOONLIGHT PADDLE

Wednesday, October 4, from 6:30 pm – 9:00 pm; Sunday, November 5; Monday, December 4 from 5:00 pm – 7:30 pm
-$35 per person plus tax
Paddle the trails of West Lake Park under the glow of the full moon and stars. Experienced paddlers only or must complete class.
**Registration Deadline is 5 pm the Thursday before.


FRIENDS OF ANNE KOLB NATURE CENTER- VOLUNTEER MEETING
Thursday, October 5; November 2  7 pm – 9 pm; December 7, from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm
-Free Ages 13+
Monthly Volunteer Meeting. Interested patrons are welcome to attend and learn about our volunteer program.


PLANKTON-A-PLENTY HIKE
Saturday, October 7, from 10:00 am – 11:00 am
-$3 per person – All ages
Take the Fishing Pier Trail hike to collect plankton. View them under the microscope and learn about their role in nature.


TRAIL STROLL
Sunday, October 15; Saturday, November 4; Sunday, November 26; Saturday, December 16 from 10:00 am  – 10:45 pm
- Free – All ages
Guided introductory boardwalk stroll through the mangrove swamp.


NATURE TOTS AT WEST LAKE PARK
Tuesday, October 17; November 21; December 19 from 10:00 am – 11:00 am
- $5 per child – Ages 2 – 4 - Pre-registration required
Program Location:  West Lake Park
Enjoy fun nature themed activities for young children.


WEST LAKE PADDLING ECO TOUR
Saturday, October 21; Monday, November 20; Tuesday, December 19 from 9:00 am - 11:30 am
- $35 per person plus tax
Tour the trails of West Lake and learn about its  history and inhabitants with one of the park's naturalists.
**Registration Deadline is 5 pm the Thursday before.


HALLO-GREEN EVENT
Saturday, October 21 from 11:00 a.m. - 3:00 pm
- $2.00 per person – All ages   Celebrate Halloween in a “green” way with environmentally friendly activities, games, arts and crafts and more!


ECO-ACTION DAY
Saturday, October 21; November 18; December 16 from 9:00 am – Noon
- Free – 13+ w/parental signature
Volunteer in the parks, picking up trash, removing exotics, planting as needed. Dress for outside work – closed toed shoes, insect spray


MUSIC AT THE MANGROVE: Folk Music
Sunday, October 22 from 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm
- Free – All ages
A concert sponsored by the Music Club of Hollywood. Donations benefit the Friends of Anne Kolb Nature Center.


SUNRISE PADDLE
Saturday, October 28; Wednesday, November 29; Monday, December 18 from 6:30 am - 8:30 am
- $35 per person – Pre-registration required 48 hours in advance.
Join us and start your day with a morning paddle and watch as the sunrise casts its beautiful light onto West Lake
** Suitable for experienced paddlers only.


FAMILY FUN NATURE SERIES: BE A GOOD ANGLER
Sunday, November 5 from 2:00 pm – 3:30 pm
- $2 – All ages – Pre-registration required
Wish you could fish? You can! Hands on fun about fish, how they eat, how to use a fishing rod and more! After the demonstrations we’ll fish from our piers!

MUSIC AT THE MANGROVE: Piano Concert

A concert sponsored by the Music Club of Hollywood with Kris Nicholson, Boogie Woogie, Ragtime, and Honky Tonk, Pianist Extraordinaire. Donations benefit the Friends of Anne Kolb Nature Center.


WHAT IS A CRUSTACEAN?
Saturday, November 18  11:00 am – 3:00 pm
-$2 per person
Learn some of the basics on crustaceans, view some live ones and celebrate all things crustaceans with crafts, activities and games.


SHELLS AND CLAWS HIKE
Saturday, November 25  from 10:00 am – 11:00 am
- $3 per person
Snails and crabs are some of the interesting creatures that call the mangrove swamp home. Become familiar with these swamp inhabitants as you hike our boardwalk trail to investigate their habits and habitats.


NATURE CRAFTS
Saturday, December 9, from 11:00 am – 3:00 pm
-$2 per person – Ages 6-12
Create something unique for yourself, a friend or a loved one using nature as your inspiration
